Rich Merritt is an associate in the firm’s litigation group.  Rich has tried more than fifty (50) cases to verdict.

In addition to trying numerous cases, Rich has extensive experience in all aspects and phases of civil litigation, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout the state and federal courts in Georgia and other jurisdictions.  Rich’s primary area of focus is in tort litigation, specifically, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability and auto liability.  Rich also has experience in both business and commercial litigation, in cases involving business torts as well as contractual disputes. 

Prior to joining the firm, Rich served as both an Assistant Solicitor General for Fulton County, and as an Assistant Attorney General with the State of Georgia Attorney General’s Office.  Rich is admitted to all state and federal courts in Georgia.  Rich is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, as well as enjoying membership as a Barrister in the prestigious Lamar American Inn of Court.

A native of the Deep South, Rich has lived in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Virginia.  Rich’s wife, Jenine, is a veterinarian in Vinings, and they have two children, Jackson and Mia.
